I agree with Seok, the strong foreground tones really send the church and landscape well into the distance.

Thanks Stephen, yes, that bit worked but the whole thing didn't for me.

Perhaps you have the same problem as me Derek . When I paint from a photograph, I often copy it too closely. Seeing this without the photo, I think the far landscape should be higher, which would allow us to appreciate the interest of the church etc. What do you think?

This was actually done on the spot Stephen, on the balcony looking at this very scene like I have done many times. Maybe too familiar.
