Yes, most difficult medium with a difficult subject! I can't comment on likeness, but it's rather good. I'd keep going if I were you.

It is good Derek, it is so difficult to get a smile on our faces when we a self portrait isn't it! That was the first thing I noticed on mine in pastel, just one of those things I guess, but you have made a very good start here, well done
