Derek...You have my full and heartfelt admiration! You are a survivor, and you will never give up. But by golly it's hard sometimes, and you go through all that . Keep painting and posting is all I can say, and I think your abstracts could well work out, judging by this WIP.

Thank very much Ruth for your kind words, I nearly gave up with this and then more rubbish on it spurred me in anger I think so it's having a remake. Maybe today might see a change.

I love this Derek. Strong and the pink building is so imposing. The distribution of colours is 'magnifique' and the under-painting comes through so well. Is this an excuse for a wee dram before bed-time?

Second attempt to continue with it and on the point of despair and giving up with brushes as you can see. There are so many errors of line and scars of colour not where they're maent to be. I use a mahl stick to try and steady my hand to no avail. Not intending to copy the oil in itself, trying a touch of impressionist style hopefully Switch to cards tomorrow I think.
