Thank you Heather, Rod and Frank for your kind remarks. This painting reminds of the sketch in the Fast Show on TV some years ago where an old guy artist always ended up with a black painting - the phrase "it's black Johnny" by his wife comes to mind!

Looking due East from the West of the village of Trim in County Meath viewed through a thick copse on the river bank you see the sun is just beginning to rise over the River Boyne with the contours of Trim Castle and the Yellow Tower just about seen, still in semi darkness.
