Grey day in Norfolk

That looks as if it the view towards Blakeney? Very atmospheric and done with engaging economy.

You always imbue a certain magic Dennis

I love your work Dennis

Thankyou very much Thea Dennis andTom . This is just the bear bones of a painting but that's intentional as i do find beauty in simplicity i don't know why exactly . Yes.Thea it very easily be Blakeney as you walk anticlockwise around the eye from Cley , i know that area very well . But to be honest it is the feel of Norfolk I'm looking for. Norfolk has a bare and rugged emptiness that i find so appealing. Thankyou again all.

sorry Tony i got your name mixed up your comment was very appreciated Tony thankyou.

Lovely early morning atmosphere, to this. While traveling towards Hereford, there was a lovely scene across the countryside of hedged fields and in the distance the spire of, Weobly church, I thought, dennis could do justice to a view like that. Smashing work.

Yep! It's a grey day in Norfolk today and you have got the atmosphere spot on Dennis. That is Blakeney church and I have been to the top of it where you get a wonderful panorama of the flat fields and sea.

Thankyou C A and Sarah, I'm looking to paint the bleak beauty of Norfolk i love it so much . I have walked every inch of coastal Norfolk and its sister Suffolk .

You have caught that chilly damp atmosphere very well here Dennis, has a certain bleak charm. Better observed from a warm room or car window though!

As always, I love your greys and the gorgeous simplicity of your paintings Dennis!

Thankyou Stephen and Satu.much appreciated comments.I love simplicity it is something i try to bring into my paintings.

Love the atmosphere of this piece, Dennis, as well as the very effective use of shapes.

Thankyou Seok it never fails to amaze me this is such a basic painting but i get more comments than on far better paintings i have done . I obviously don't know what people like.

Thankyou Gudrun comments appreciated.

Less is more. Beautiful as always Dennis. This one's quite evocative as well.

Love the simplicity, the economy of marks and the beautiful muted colours. I painted on the Somerset levels for many years and this painting reminds me of my years there.

A real case of less is more..really love this and enjoy looking at your work<br />

I love the beautiful simplicity of this piece - wonderfully atmospheric

This is beautiful. Such volumes conveyed so sparingly. Love it!

Just love the peace in this painting. Simplicity speaks volumes. Well done.

Beautiful rich colours, a classic case of less is more, i.e. it's good point is it's simplicity.

Top work.
