Denis this is a nice and happy painting, is it the red of the tent that creates this positive special?

Thank you everyone for your comments - most encouraging! Holger, I myself think that the red tent (actually it was orange) adds a positive element to the picture. It was there as the registration point for the painters taking part (you can see that I did'not venture far to find my subject!). I stuck it in almost as an afterthought together with figures to impart a sense of scale.

I was invited to take part in a 'Paint Out' down in Wenhaston, Suffolk a couple of weeks ago. It was a lovely day, lovely venue and some brilliant painters taking part. My ink and wash won 'nowt' as we say in Yorkshire but taking part was reward in itself. I've never done anything like it before.
