Smashing pen & wash work Denis.

Lovely painting!

Denis., very simple, but effective. Well done.

Typical English summers day! Lovely, fresh work Dennis.

I love your pen & washes, Denis. Beautiful choice of colours too!

At his attracted my attention to have a look through your gallery. Your pen and wash sketchbook work is wonderful

Everyone is so kind with their comments. Thank you. Dianab mentions my sketch book work. I think, no, I know, that it is with the sketch book that I feel most comfortable. I have 26 of them now which cover almost 20 years. I am rarely without one. I use an Edding pen when I sit down to draw in the book but next week, when I will be back in the Southwold area, I will be working on a bigger scale but again mainly with ink and wash. The difference will be that instead of a pen I will use a stick of balsa wood and a bottle of Indian ink. The sketch at Walberswick was done this way - working on rough Bockngford paper the stick produces a line which resembles charcoal. I like that and it seems to suit my style.

These buildings seem to be possessed on a wonderful character and you've done a superb job, Denis, in incorporated that character and individuality into your composition.
