Nice loose watercolour esp trees. Maybe a shadow across foreground? from imaginary tree

Lovely view Denis, super blue sky, love the distant buildings as well

Nice atmosphere, you've made it look so easy.

Thanks for your favourable comments. They are appreciated. I felt relaxed as I painted this. I'd found a good subject and I was in the company of friends who were also keen painters. Seago was one of my heroes at the time - and still is.

Lovely simple (I mean simple as in uncluttered, Denis, not that it was simple to do) scene with nice sense of recession. I cannot pluck up whatever it is that I need to in order to go and paint outside. But I WILL do it this summer.

Your description sounds wonderful Denis, beautiful watercolour. I too admire Seago's style.

I hope you do manage to paint outdoors Caroline. Whether we will ever get 'summer' remains to be seen but try it. I do most of my work outdoors nowadays using a sketch book but if the weather is fine I'll paint a full scale watercolour as per this one in Norfolk and the one at Dunwich.

It was a hot summers day when this was painted somewhere in rural Norfolk.

Keen on art at school and would have dearly liked a job with an art connection- I had hoped to get into architecture, but it did not happen.…
