What a lovely sketch (sketch seems an inadequate description), full of life and detail. Must bring lots of good memories to you, looking through the records of your travels. Nice to read your diary entries too.

Like Stephen I am in awe at the amount of work that's gone into this sketch!

Agreed it is super work Denis, each of the paintings and drawings in this sketchbook of yours is excellent Denis!

I value your comments. I guess this sketch took me about an hour to do. I was out and about early -few people stirring - but as the morning wore on, I was disturbed by loud explosions and chanting. A group of teachers were holding a protest rally. Looking for more pay I think - my command of the French language isn't very good. I could only manage a 'Pass' in my School Certificate exam and that was 65 years ago! But it was a good morning. When I'd finished this sketch I moved my seat round by 90 degrees and did another one. By the way, I have 20 sketch books filled now - lovely memories of times past.

Another beautiful sketch Denis. And a much more personal way of keeping a record of travels than photos. Only wish I had your skills!

Keen on art at school and would have dearly liked a job with an art connection- I had hoped to get into architecture, but it did not happen.…
