For someone who rarely takes more than about 4 hours for a painting I am in awe of the detail and cannot guess how long it took you - all that I can say is that it was more than worth the effort Denise - a real beaut

Coo - how did you manage to reserve the unpainted leaves? Did you just leave them and paint round them, or mask them out? If the former - where on earth did you get that degree of patience?

Until this morning I had seen very few of your paintings but this wonderful image made me stop and take a good look at your portfolio. I am really awed by your skill with a pen and brush the detail in your paintings is so good and y our talent shines through. Lovely work Denise.

Michael I lost count how long this one took I am sure it was well over 40 hours though ! I think I may be nuts !!Robert no masking fluid was used in this one although I do occasionally use it, this time I painted around the leaves with different inks. Thank you all for your very kind comments, makes all the time spent worth it !!

I can see that it must have been a huge task - you must have the patience of a saint. However, it was worth all the work as it is a wonderful work - very dramatic and eye catching.
