We have quite a few of these characters around here, so I can vouch for your comment that they're elegant and moving to look at; they're a type of cormorant, really. Well painted (watercolour?) and I like your broililng sea, and cliff, as well.

I love bird watching and I have woke up to what's out there instead of little brown things or even little stark black things in rockfaces, which are shags. They are quite elegant and moving to look at.
