I like the idea of taking your glasses off Dawn! Might have to try that. I struggle between two pairs for close up and distance, drives me mad when painting! I think you’ve achieved the looseness you were looking for here. I love the big leaves in the foreground.

A good technique which has worked VERY well!

What a great and effective idea ( with your glasses)! I love the painting. It has such depth and gorgeous colour tones. Very well done.

My sister was advised to take her glasses off at art college. Also to squint. It gives you another perspective to help you focus on the general, rather than the specific. I should do it more often too. Now that I wear glasses, I can take the advice. But you have achieved a great result!

Fantastic foreground with those big leaves and such flowing, expressive brush work Dawn.

I wanted to loosen up with this small study, so I took my glasses off, and it worked. My eyes are quiet bad and it allowed me to only see shapes and shifts in tone. For the second layer I put them back on and refined a little
