Mr. I Oil on board I painted this alla prima, with no ground, just the gesso white base. I mixed the paint using turps and linseed oil to give a very runny consistency, this helped to replicate his beautiful skin. Our little grandson has the nick name Mr. I don't know where it came from but it has stuck! He hasn't been well of late and I wanted to paint a picture of him looking content and happy.
