Well I started this one as a practice piece, something to get me going, but as I kept on working I couldn't stop! I love the work of American artist, Sue Lyon and I am trying to copy her approach, working alla prima and with very gentle brush marks. I started with a plain white canvas ( I usually always tone) and I started with very light muted tones, I would normally look for my darkest areas first. go have a look at her work, I believe she worked with Richard schmid, another favorite of mine
