Thank you all for those compliments. Yes, it is a simple scene and I've painted or sketched it a few times as it's only 20 yards from the new footbridge in my previous post. Perhaps it was a case of absence makes the paint flow stronger, coming back to it after lockdown?!

Yes wirecutters would be useful to the artist, if I try to alter a gate to appear open it usually looks false!

Painted outdoors in my local fields yesterday. I would have liked to open the broken gate to improve the composition but it was firmly wired shut. Glorious weather for being back at the easel.
