Love the light in your paintings David.

Two beautiful paintings David.

Thank you both, glad you like it. Your words are music to my ears, Emma! I spent years painting objects like barns, trees and hills and wondering what "they" meant by painting the light. Once I understood that it meant the nature of the light reflected from those objects, and not the ethereal air between me and the object, it all began to make sense. Shadows are the key, I find.

I spent a glorious Spring day last week painting outdoors & walking in the Peak District, round Chelmorton where there are dry stone walls and barns at every turn (and an excellent bookshop, cafe & art gallery at Brierlow Bar!)
