It's certainly one of my favourite locations also David, anyway, well drawn and good to get out sketching on the spot.

Thank you all for your appreciation. No, Stephen, it's not Indian Ink. I like drawing in the studio with Indian ink and a sharpened matchstick but it's too dodgy to use those quickly, outdoors. I use Unipin fibre pens, sizes 0.1, 0.3, 0.5 & 0.8mm. The deepest darks are the 0.8, and the lightest marks, such as my shorthand for distant trees. are the 0.1. I would recommend Pin Mill to anyone interested in estuaries and old characterful boats. Every visit is different, the state of the tide, the boats moored up, and the weather. Even if it's raining you can sketch from the rear bay window of the Butt & Oyster pub just to the right of this view.

On a recent visit to Pin Mill, my favourite Suffolk location, I noticed the Thames Barge Melissa had moved to a different berth. I took the opportunity to do a pen sketch and take several photos, and it was just as well, when we returned later in the week, she had returned to her normal berth.
