The Thrush Tree at the Devonshire Arms
We just spent the weekend in Wharfedale, staying in this wonderful hotel, while Storm Dennis raged outside. The only bright thing about taking our dog out for his walks was the thrush singing away in the tree outside, so I took a quick photo in the rain, did an ink sketch from the camera in our room, and put watercolour on the sketch back home. The biggest challenge was trying to avoid making the trimmed box hedge bushes look like kettledrums!
