Chinese Dragon by David Lyon
I took my inspiration from a mid 19th century Chinese embroidery. Dragons ( those with 5 claws on each foot - like this) were a symbol for the Emperor, and dragons were coloured yellow or gold at this time. I used water mixable oils on a 7x5 inch canvas board, which was quite tricky attempting this level of detail.
