It was such a fabulous day yesterday, clear blue sky, birds singing, irises, poppies and alliums at their peak, sorbus tree in full bloom of white frothy flowers, sun beating down on the golden hop, shadows on the lawn. I had to sit in the shade of a red-flowering hawthorn and try to capture some of this riot of colour. Not my usual medium or style, but what a way to pass a few peaceful hours on a lovely day.
