Stunning artwork Russell, skin tones superb.

Less can be more Russell, it’s a beauty. Super painterly look great👀👍

I would be more than happy with this excellent portrait Russell, it’s a beauty ,as the artist you and you alone can decide when to stop . It’s definitely not a didn’t make it as it stands as a great painting as it is.

This is something I’d have been thrilled skinny to have painted. We are our own worst critics some of the time - that’s no bad thing I suppose - but I’m seeing your usual excellence.

Super painting Russell.

Gorgeous expressive portrait, Russel!

Not quite your usual style but I like it, it’s less “finished” but still excellent. One of your granddaughters? I actually like the unfinished edges.

Great as is. The hair reflects the outside, or even, mornings wake. Content!

A fine portrait indeed, I also like the previous one a lot Russell. One heart from me.

Superb painting Russell, whether you are content or not quite! I think as painters we are never sure if we could have done something slightly better or differently, maybe that’s what makes us artists and keeps us coming back for more.

It and she is a stunner, incompletely perfect in my view.

Wonderful artwork Russell as always. Beautiful hair.

Russell, a beautiful portrait - I like the less finished right hand side, I think it really adds to the appeal of the portrait.

Excellent portrait, Like it !

Love her very individual expression and the slightly half closed eyes, which emotion evades the viewer. Love everything about this Russell and particularly her hair. Another stunner.

Thank you all very much for your generous comments, always very much appreciated. Not my granddaughter Marjorie, it's loosely based on a snapshot from someone on YouTube, very loosely I should say!

Beautiful skin and hair, I also like the unfinished look very much.

It's just fine as it is. Her face is sublime.

Great work, Russell. Loose and dynamic. One of your best!

A great portrait -think the unfinished area adds to the dynamism of it, keeps it lively.

It takes a profound talent to know exactly when to stop, and your intuition here is world-class, Russell. Even in its 'incomplete' state, the work feels masterfully balanced and holds more raw energy than most finished pieces. Truly a testament to your artistic maturity – sometimes the soul of the painting is found in what’s left unsaid.

Wow, a gorgeous portrait

A fabulous portrait Russell.

Ohh she is alive. Magnífico!!

Oil. There are times when you feel it's just not happening and the only thing to do is accept the fact, hence the title.
