Absolutely fabulous Russell! I can feel the damp and decay from your image, not to mention the hardships of the individuals that dwelled here. I have a sepia photo of the tenements where my mother was born, not unlike this, but a little wider. I’ve always wanted to have a go at it.

I share your interest in these old Victorian slums. Your drawing reeks of atmosphere…and don’t go down there feelings. Terrific drawing.

A really eerie dark dank place so well drawn - very atmospheric.

"Victorian slum" is the first thought that crossed my mind when I looked at this. I love the sense of depth as the alley fades into the distance, which gives it a sense of danger.

A really good capture of this street and the dark and grimy atmosphere of this Victorian slum. The dark, dank doorways and rubble in the lane-way in contrast to the light cold sky depicts a very chilling atmosphere and bleak!
