If John Constable had painted tractors ….. well maybe not, 😄. The Field Marshall’s ( an old British manufacturer of tractors ) depicted here in a timeless scene drawing and winching timber from a wood are still going strong, the green one dates from 1938 and the orange one 1955. These models were famed for their single cylinder engines and if you’ve ever heard one they had a very distinctive sound, and could appear to hop at tick over due to the inertial forces of a huge piston starting and stopping .
