Extremely impressive David - what medium did you use and what is the size of the painting?

Thanks Adele, I work solely in acrylic and generally standardise on a 30"x20" ( in old money 😀) canvas board

Another stunner.

I only do "old money" David.

just brilliant

Thank you for your kind remarks folks

Absolutly brilliant. The dust, the tyre tracks, the light in the picture. Everything spot on. Also brilliant gallery. I envy your skills.

What a wonderful painting, if my father was still alive he would be enthralled. He was in the building trade and lived in Bridlington, he and Clifford Watts were great friends. Brings back fond memories for me seeing those amazing trucks delivering around East Yorkshire with their characteristic engine roar. Priestman Lion a nice touch also, a truly "local scene".

Some paintings have to stay under wraps for a while after they are completed as they are surprise gifts! This is one such, and was handed over to the recipient by his family earlier today in Yorkshire as a special birthday present, I am happy to report it was well received! The painting depicts a scene in a limestone quarry in 1967 of the famous local company of W Clifford Watts, ( still going strong today ), and features a Foden S21 8 wheel tipper when only a few weeks old, a Priestman face shovel, and a Ford Thames Trader tipper, only two years old but looking a little battle scarred from the tough life these vehicles lead. Check out the comments below for a photo of the painting framed and hung in pride of place by its new owner, himself an author of a book on the company! I don't often get to see my work framed so it's adds a new dimension for me too. Enjoy
