Great southern railway of Ireland's class B1a 800 Maedhbh (Maeve) lifting the heavy 4.00 pm mail train for Dublin out of Glanmire Road station in Cork in 1939 when only into service a few weeks. The trains were faced with a 1:60 climb immediately on leaving the station and prior to the introduction of this clas of loco often required double or triple heading to get the 450 ton trains up the bank.
