A2 oil on canvas board. I think it looks a bit cartoonish because the colours are a bit flat... a better artist than me could probably glaze some extra colours into it but I had an experiment and it went so badly I decided not to risk trying it on here. I think it looks very much like who it is supposed to be, they say the eyes are wrong (I made them too blue but it was a deliberate choice as grey isn't contrasting enough.

Inspired by an artist friend I came back to paint a bit at the end of 2017. At the moment I am enjoying it and maybe because I have the patience to look more than I once did I am finding it easier and more enjoyable to actually produce a likeness.
