Beautiful foliage and dappled light and shade. The cars and houses are also painted well. I think we need to look at paintings like this to remind us what Summer should look like! I’m wearing more clothes now than in Spring!

This was painted from a series of photographs taken on a sunny day this spring. I tried to capture the difference between the sunlit areas and the shadows. I find motor vehicles are difficult to paint. Acrylic on 16" x 20" canvas panel.

I worked in the construction industry for many years, and then architecture. I have recently taken up painting, creating compositions from urban scenes; with particular attraction to dilapidated old buildings; they have interesting decaying textures.
