Acrylic on canvas board; a scene in Coundon , Coventry. I was attracted by the contrast between the bright yellow markers and the dark shadows under the bridge. I haven't actually finished this painting as I am 'improving' the look of the shadows – not dark enough.

I worked in the construction industry for many years, and then architecture. I have recently taken up painting, creating compositions from urban scenes; with particular attraction to dilapidated old buildings; they have interesting decaying textures.
