I wanted to capture a moment in that unfolding: stepping forward even when the shadows behind me feel heavy, choosing openness even when it’s uncomfortable. The palette in my hands acts as a sort of armour something I’ve often used to prove I’m capable, creative, worthy. It’s funny how the tools we love can also become the shields we hide behind. In this portrait, they feel like both: the protection I’ve relied on and the vulnerability I’m learning to let through.
