Many thanks Gudrun , I do like my pastels very much but devote so little time to their use. as a note , I did actually change the clouds a little by removing the dark area making them less ' in the face'. amazing how such a small change worked.

A Pastel of one of Gozo's lovely tiny bays with super sand and shallow water, difficult to access but well worth the clamber down and climb out again. Schmincke soft pastels on 75 lb pastel paper, larger format than often used, fixative was used sparingly, some of the foreground rock was rendered in conte stick.
