This is a stunning painting, Christof. In the 80ies I was with a group of friends on a walking holiday in Martell-tal. A beautiful region.

Beautiful painting, Christof.

Ortler (3905m), Südtirol, Italy. Watercolor on Saunders Waterford 640g, rough. Nearly all of the summit is covered by a massive glacier. I was attracted by the fantastic structures made of ice. Until exactly 100 years ago (till 1919) the Ortler was the highest mountain of the former Austrian-Hungarian empire. During the First World War this mountain was the highest front-line. Nowadays it is a very popular summit for advanced Alpine climbers.
