'Dolomiti di Brenta‘, Molveno, Trentino, Italy. Watercolor 36x110cm (14“x42“) on Arches 300g rough. When we stayed at Lago di Molveno we had this fantastic mountain view just in front of us. The sky was blue, but a group of white clouds had insisted to surround the main summits (Cima Tosa 3173m, Cima Brenta 3151m and Cima Groste 2901m) of the Brenta range. I sketched a lot, took several photos and waited until I could spot one peak after the other. My panorama painting I created at home in my studio from my multiple sources. The challenge was to concentrate on the main features of the mountains and not overwork the hundreds of peaks, slopes and gullies. I sticked to a limited palette and hope you like the outcome!
