It works well Chrissie. I particularly like the colours you have used. If you don’t mind me saying, I think the vase of flowers could do with a shadow underneath to stop it floating.

Acrylic on canvas. 60x50cms 24x20inches. The first attempt at introducing a narrative element into a Still Life subject. I didn’t want the figure to be too dominant which is why the flowers are to the front. I kept the colour palette fairly harmonious to make sure that each of the various elements in the composition carried equal importance. I hope this painting will be the first in a series.
