Tresco Abbey Gardens inspired this painting. I enjoyed the tropical nature of the plants very much - their wild exuberance , exaggerated shapes,unexpected textures and colours all increased the sense of exploration. The small gap in the hedge provided a glimpse through to a different more controlled sort of planting; a marvellous foil to the unpredictability of everything in the foreground.
