I've been working on a couple of other submissions. This was an effort to try to grasp the style of American painter Robert Henri (1865-1929). He's associated with the Ashcan School of painters. He'd studied in Paris and seems to have adopted some of the stylistic approaches of the Impressionists. Edward Hopper was one of his students! I was really struck by how Robert Henri used colour in his figure work.
