The stream is just perfect, and the way the light is shinning through the trees. I like trees but I've never attempted to paint a woodland scene.

This is really beautiful

Absolutely gorgeous.

Another great one Charles.

Well Darling, this is absolutely beautiful! I love the water and the detail in the foreground. I can even see a fern on the right hand side which has given me an idea for a new painting. Many thanks for that as I've been suffering from the artists block now for too long! This really is a lovely painting, so very atmospheric and telling of the beauty of Derbyshire (one of my favourite places)

Come on Charles, you know damn' well green isn't the only colour you can paint! This is a wonderful painting - exciting shapes and brush-strokes, yes, great greens, but lovely earth colours too, in the depths of the water, in the trunks of the trees: love those spidery, crawling roots.

I can't say it better than Robert. I agree 100% with all the above comments. All your "greens" are just perfect!!!

I absolutely hate painting anything green and try very hard not to - so your painting makes me very envious of your skill in handling this difficult colour. Superb light, beautifully painted stream and altogether a wonderful portrayal of the landscape of Derbyshire.

They've said it all and I can only agree with everyone. This is a really beautiful painting.....love it!

Just spotted this painting Charles it is beautiful . I think its my favourite one of yours .

It's your mastery of greens that makes your works so enviable, Charles. Another superb piece. It reminds me very much of a Pre-Raphaelite painting - beautifully rendered detail and great composition.
