Interesting to read how you achieved it

Really interesting painting.

Beautiful, interesting style too.

Attracted to this smashing work due to it's relations with my mill piece, but noticing your fine accurate control of the all important ellipses

Sounds interesting procedure, so professionally executed Charles. Delightful painting.

Lovely work yet again Chas, interesting method.

Forgot to say this is one of my favourite walks:)

Beautiful painting. Love your story too,

Fascinating technique, great result.

Impressive

Interesting technique - I guess is stops your watercolours looking wishy-washy. Excellent!

Terrific effect Charles, I especially like the cushion of green moss on the millstones.

G'day Chas , certainly sounds a different technique but is very effective and I like the result very much indeed. I paint gouache onto black paper , I do use an ink technique as well , but this is certainly has a powerful impact - the "gutsy " type of painting that I like. I also like your choice of subject matter as well. Thanks for sharing this memory, cheers from NZ Mike Capenerhurst

I love this Chas, you've really captured this lovely damp late autumnal scene - Super! Your method is as interesting as your subject. Also just checked out the rest of your gallery which I like a lot, I look forward to seeing more, Joe.

Your method produces unique results - POL should commission an article from you, because I'm sure few people use this technique (it would be interesting to read how you developed it, too).

Thank you everyone for the kind comments

Painted on 250lb Bockingford - 8" x 12" - When painting with watercolour I do not use masking fluid or gouache but will use W/N titanium white -- This painting was on watercolour paper - the paper was given two layers of black Indian ink - giving me a jet black ground to work on - The painting was then built up using glazes - layers and neat paint- certainly makes for some fun --- Happy painting -- Chas
