Country view

This is my favourite of the pieces you've posted today. The yellows (sunlight?) in the foreground make it stand out.

Thank you for your kind comments. There is a fallow field near here, and the white stubble from a distance looks yellow when the sun shines. It's much less intense than in my painting but I just like yellow and blue and on this small canvas board, 7in by 5in I just splashed it on. Sometimes around here the fields in late winter and early spring are bleak and lonely, so a splash of colour is cheerful. The remains of a cottage where John Bunyan is said to have stayed is close by in Colemans Green. I fancifully imagine this is where he wrote about the slough of despond. :)

I like that yellow, it's soft - and the clouds have warmth that lifts the whole painting.
