Interestingly - or, of course, not - I've been planning something like this for a while, inspired in my case by a photograph, and my preparatory scribbles have taught me how difficult it is to actually do: I keep getting the surround too dark and making it all too obvious. So - well done for surmounting the challenges, in which you've succeeded.
