Snow scene?? from Colin Steed article in Jan. Leisure Painter

Carol, I haven’t seen the demo so I have no fixed ideas about the composition or anything, so, I don’t see the hedges that look like mountains, they look like banks and hedges. The tree is fine, it’s well balanced, and the colour of snow, we’ll snow isn’t white mostly. It reflects all kinds of colours so yes it looks like snow to me. Even if it didn’t, it’s a lovely watercolour and I think it’s one of your best, as were the two posted a couple of days ago. You are being far too hard on yourself, keep going. X

Many thanks Fiona for your comments -I needed that to lift my spirits as I am disappointed that the painting doesn't look like the one I was copying. I do accept it is one of my better landscapes so must keep going. Hope to reply to your E-mails over the weekend.
