I think this is agood effort Carol. I've been on two or three od Geoff's courses and I'm a big fan. It's ok when you are there following his lead but it's another thing to do it yourself! He has a recent book and dvd set out on painting trees and woodland, which is very good but I suppose it's all down to practice!

Well done Carol, good colours, and sky contrasting nicely with the colours in the trees

Well done Carol, you have certainly achieved a lovely feel to your painting and scene. I for one have never painted a landscape in watercolour and it certainly scares me! I have also got a couple of Geoff Kersey books/videos for my recent birthday so will also give it a try but maybe not this one!

am not familiar with Geoff Kersey's work, Carol, so cannot judge how close you've got to his. I like your painting though, nice tranquil woodland, the warmth through the middle distance, the winding path

Thank you all for your comments. Apologies for not responding sooner -currently snowed under with new payroll regulations!!! Would rather be painting. Stephen- I too am a great fan of Geoff Kersey and have that book you mentioned. This picture is in there but I didn't use the Tracing provided -I drew it freehand which is why it's not quite the same. I hope to try some more of his painitngs as his instructions are so clear. I certainly enjoyed painting this one and I feel I learnt a great deal whilst doing it.

This was painted following instructions in a Geoff Kersey book. I found the step by step instructions first class but I'm not sure if I've done it justice. Comments & criticism very welcome.
