Have you brightened your palette Carol, it suits the subject and title? I like the hint of pink in the sky and where you've also used it in the foreground flowers. A very nice composition.

Thanks Fiona -I haven't consciously changed my palette but I also noticed this is brighter than my usual tones -in fact I'm not altogether happy with the greens which I think look a bit garish. Once again this was a "no drawing" painting -just went where the brush took me. I seem to be more successful doing that.

Carol, thank you for your 'over' generous comment on my last posting.....lol You are very kind. I'm glad you are pushing on with your adventure into oils, and maybe you might have a dabble at Quink sketches?! As you have it at your finger tips every day, there is no excuse to do a bit of scribbling on scrap paper. All you need is an old watercolour brush and a little water!!! Thanks again Carol.
