welcome back to you :-) this is like a photo :-) 2 years is a long time, and i hope you'll be able to stay now and post more of your excellent paintings :-) you are very talented :-)

Welcome back Carole. I can see where the title comes from, very cleverly done! A lovely portrait of a lovely dog.

I can see the house in his eye - which is fairly miraculous for me...you may picture me with my nose to the screen (I'm a touch on the short-sighted side..). Wonderful picture, great looking dog - your first post for 2 years? Slacker! Welcome back - hope you weren't ill, but just busy.

Stunning portrait and I like the house

Very clever portrait and superbly painted as well.

Stunning portrait Carole and welcome back!

Thank you everyone for your lovely comments. A lot of it is down to excellent reference photos - I use the copyright free images from morguefiles. I chose this one because I loved his square jaw - the reflection in the eye was a real bonus when I got to painting it! P.s. have only been away from the site because I got fed up of the loading speed and difficulty with navigation - but I have missed you lovely people!

I didn't get it until I read the comments. I only noticed the highlight at first. I have never seen such detail in such a small place. It's fabulous detail both in the eye and the dogs coat. Brilliant and I hope you stay with us now.

Wonderful reflection in the eye and super use of colour in the white areas of the coat, what a handsome chap!

Thank you Chris - it;s all down to painting what you see and I was lucky enough to get a great reference photo! Thanks Leslie - I appreciate your positive comments very much :)

24 x 18 inch acrylic on canvas First post in 2 years - can't believe it's been that long! If you view it large you will see why it's called "House trained" :)
