Looks very good to me!

Hi Carole, love the typically vivacious colours, most of the face and the movement, but would you mind me saying, sadly, not sure about the eyes?? Much love and God bless, 🙂❤️🙏

You are spot on Andrew. The right eye is too big. I was too frustrated to correct the eyes as I had spent so much time on this. May have another go later. Thanks for your honesty Andre. God bless🌈🌈🌈

Thank you David. A bit fed up with the time spent on this.

Fantastic colours, can see why you were attracted

Lovely warmth in this, brilliant mouth showing the teeth - yes, the left eye needs a touch to correct, that wouldn’t take long but I know what you mean when you’ve had enough!

Lovely vibrant colour as usual, the eye further away always looks smaller but this doesn't look quite right.hope you don't mind someone Whois no good with faces pointing it out.

Looking at your painting again Marjorie I think the problem is with the right eye,

A great portrait of that moment in time.

Sorry Carole,I referred to you as Marjorie,a senior moment.

This is so not clumsy Carole. I love it!!

The fiery colours look great and it is an excellent practice, portraits are so difficult and you have made a good job of it.

It a really good Painting, so you got the eyes a bit wrong , not easy to do . I souled not be to hard on yourself Carole, it’s a good portrait and you can put it right if and when you want to .

Thank you everyone for your kind comments and good advice. Will alter the eyes after a few days, when I feel less stressed over this difficult portrait. I’m much more at home with other mediums but feel I need to conquer the medium of oil pastels as it is more practical to use. .

Such a difficult subject Carole, but you’ve handled it brilliantly. I love the warmth and character you’ve conveyed - It’s practically there bar a bit of tweaking.

I wouldn't know where to start a portrait with oil pastels Carole- I have done a few landscapes in them where it doesn't matter if I have lost control a bit! But they are a good medium for vibrant colours which lifts this portrait. Once you have balanced the eyes it will be fab.

I find oil pastel difficult at the best of times. This is a beauty Carole. I love the way you have muted the background to make her really pop. Fabulous colours, fabulous painting.

A very lively and expressive portrait, Carole. Nicely done!

Saw this woman in a a cafe in Spain and was intrigued by her expression. I asked if I could take her photo with a view to painting her portrait. Had great difficulty in painting this with oil pastels re blending and details. It’s a bit clumsy but I need the practice. Oil pastels on pastelmat 12” x 10”.
