That is definitely a winter walk! It made me feel quite cold!!

Lovely picture, amazing colours.

Beautiful Carole, you certainly warm up the winter.

I definitely like the idea of an inviting house and a hot drink. In my view a house in this painting gives it more life.

I'd rather be inside the house looking out that's for sure. The sky is fabulous Carole.

Lovely painting - I like the house.

A beautiful winter evening with the promise of a warm house to return to!

Many thanks David, Stephen, John, Romila, Russell, Maureen and Anne for your generous, supportive feedback. Much appreciated.

That’s definitely a winter moon, with shades of Van Gogh. Great atmosphere Carole.

You’ve got to keep the house Carole, otherwise, no hot chocolate and no log fire to warm your toes.

I’m honoured by your comment Marjorie, Van Goh indeed. Fiona your comment made me laugh out loud. You sounded as desperate as I was on that walk, for a hot drink. Thanks both of you.

Great colours. And composition. Tells a story with atmosphere

I love your vibrant colours and composition, I think I agree with you about the house though.

I like it Carole, I would keep the house, it adds to the painting

I do not think removing the house is a good idea. Let it serve as a focal point.

This is exceptional Carole a beautiful combination of vibrant colours. You use oil pastels perfectly.

Leave the house, it suits the picture Carole. Great painting, very atmospheric.

Leave the house in as it adds a dimension to a beautiful coloured painting Carole.

Inspired by the inviting snow and a stroll through the countryside I painted this but the house is imaginary. Was thinking how nice it would be to have a hot drink inside a cosy cottage. I think this would be a better painting if I removed the house. What do you think? Somehow I think it makes the painting look a bit twee. Would appreciate your feedback. Oil pastels on paper. 10” x 12”.
