A stunner - abstraction meets detail, perfect!

The detail is so interesting.

Beautiful palette Brian. The cool purple leads one's eye to the subject matter. What size is it please, and how have you achieved the boat's rigging? Is this opaque paint applied afterwards, or white paper saved through the use of masking fluid?

Thanks for your comments. Philip the answer to your question, the rigging is a combination of scratched back when dry using a scalpel and bleed proof white made by Dr. Martens. The image size is approx 45cm(h) x 35cm (w)
