Brian, this is wonderful. This scene has defeated me on many occasions, and you have captured it beautifully. That water is first rate. Mark

You must keep doing what you're doing! This is marvellous and I love detail as well as loose so please don't stop!

Incredible details, you must have a lot of patience! Great job. I like your other paintings too.

I don't think you really believe that yourself Brian. The painting is great and detail is definitely not equal to fussy! I think it is great to see somebody painting like this. I personally am fed up with being told that only loose is good.

i love your work Brian. i would love to have the time to paint detailed work like yours! hopefully once the kids are a bit older i'll get the chance. I love your whole portfolio!

superb painting and portfolio , well done

I was just having this discussion with an artist friend. He was lauding one of my works, and I said to him that I had long ago realized I couln't see my paintings the way others do. I think this is a common malady. Trust me - This is Excellent, and whatever "Fussiness" you see, we don't! It just looks marvelously detailed.

You can have lots of detail, but if you keep the freshness then it never looks over-worked. The amount of white in the paintings keeps it miles away from being over-worked or fussy. The clean lines and sharp detail are wonderful and the viewer can spend ages just looking and appreciately how beautifully every single element is painted. Never apologise for this quality of work!

Lots to see in this painting. Lovely detail.

Beautiful work. I feel like I'm there.

Overworked? Nooooo ... It keeps me wanting to discover more. Love your work

You may say fussy, but looking at your other wonderful watercolours I guess detail is what you are so good at, don't loose it. Often you see paintings where' less would be more' but the detail you put in is, I feel necessary to most of your subject. Excellent portfolio.

I suspect that this is the ultimate in overwork and fussiness. Hopefully I have now got it out of my system for ever (sadly though I doubt it!).
