This is perhaps the best way of getting the most out of watercolour - keeping it simple (I know it's not simple to do), with strong shapes, and exploiting the medium's translucency. This is very effective: and pleasing to the eye.

Had a go yesterday at reproducing an image from Peter Cronin's book entitled Pure Watercolour - a work which I have found to be an inspiration. Here it is in all its glory. Any pointers/help welcome.
