We had magnificent views of the lake from the rooftop of our hotel, the Devraj Niwas, in Udaipur, two doors away from the Jagat Niwas which featured in the film Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. (You can get a glimpse of the view I've painted over Judi Dench's shoulder in one of the scenes at the Hindu funeral of Graham [Tom Wilkinson]). Just the merest hint of ink line in this, just to map the broad location of the promontory in the composition. All other decisions made with the brush.
