Nicely done, I like the distressed background that adds to the sense of isolation.

Thank you Seok. Glad you like it. Must admit it is one of my favourites and glad that I got round to painting it at long last. Brian

I like your burro - patience on its monument, indeed; sorry you've been pushed back so many pages so quickly!

Yes, It hardly seems worth the effort putting anything up on this site any more. You're lucky if it is there five minutes so much stuff is being uploaded and so the value of getting comments is becoming less and less. How do you find it? Back to the painting. I was quite pleased with it. It looks even better now. Since I took this foto I have pulled it together with a light glaze and got rid of "That sinking feeling" on the coat and it has had a coat of matt varnish too. It looks much better now. I'm over in London for a few days next week dashing around all the exhibitions I can fit in and hoping to get over to the Blackwater Estuary too for some sketching around Maldon and Heybridge Basin. Bags of boats, all shapes and sizes.

I couldn't resist this burro forlornly standing in the blazing heat of the day. It was about four years ago and I have only just rediscovered her in an old sketchbook. I treated her to a few carrots from a local fruteria but couldn't find a container for water. She looks a little patchy as it is a Work in Progress photo and I must reshoot now that she s finished. All she needed was a thin glaze to pull the colours together and get rid of the sinking and a coat of varnish. These have been added and she looks to have a much better coat now. She is currently attracting a lot of attention in an exhibition in Frigiliana.
